Obituary

Roberta "Bobbie" Kuhlman went home to be with her Savior on January 26, 2021 at the age of 90 years old. Beloved by all who knew her, Bobbie made an impression on everyone she met with her warm and welcoming spirit and her infallible wit. Bobbie treasured her family and devoted her life to making things beautiful and happy for them. She was an amazing cook and hostess and her house was a gathering place of many happy parties and memories. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Bobbie loved the city and growing up one of seven children. She was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School class of 1949 where she met the love of her life, Edward Kuhlman, and was married within the same year. The two loved to dance together and spent many nights jitter-bugging with friends. Bobbie remained in love with her sweetheart, Eddie, during their 47 years of marriage and for the entirety of her life. The two spent all their summers on the beach in Ocean City, where they had a summer house. Bobbie eventually moved "down the shore" permanently in 2004 to be closer to her grandchildren. She was strong willed and tenacious, and had a sharper wit than anyone - ready to take it and dish it right back to you. She had beautiful handwriting, was eloquent, and the smartest person in the room - she could answer every Jeopardy question in a second flat. It is not an exaggeration to say that if you knew Bobbie, you loved her. She was a doting mother to her only daughter Pamela, and an adoring grandmother to her four grandchildren, Casey, Carly, Shereesha and Dakota, and three great-grandchildren, Delaney, Sawyer and Sheppard. Bobbie was an ever-present support on the sidelines of all her grandchildren's games, events, and graduations and beamed with pride over her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, but her lasting legacy of light will continue on through all the love she gave and joyful stories of her life to be told time and time again. Bobbie is predeceased by her parents - Margaret and Thomas Walls, her husband - Edward Kuhlman, her brothers - Thomas Walls and David Walls, and her sisters - Mary Lou Shallcross (William Shallcross), Dorothy Brieda, Peggy Ann Fetter (Ken Fetter). She is survived by her sister - Barbara Logan (Thomas Logan), her daughter - Pamela Hitchner (Eric Hitchner), her grandchildren - Casey Hopwood (Nicholas Hopwood), Carly Witherow (Eric Witherow), Shereesha James (David James), and Dakota Hitchner, and her great grandchildren – Delaney Witherow, Sawyer Hopwood, and Sheppard Witherow. She is also survived by her two nieces Ruth Hatala and Mary Ann Berchtold as well as many other nieces and nephews.
