Obituary

Edward "Monk" R. Hahn, Sr., 84, of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Gloucester, NJ he was the son of the late Ernest J. Hahn, Sr., and Alma (Unknown) Hahn. He was the devoted husband of the late Lois L. (Hollingshead) Hahn who passed away October 12, 2016.

Edward bravely served his country in the U.S. Navy and following his service trained to become a master plumber. Edward worked as a plumber locally for over 50 years owning and operating Ed Hahn Plumbing and Heating. He worked many jobs for Art Handler in Pleasantville, NJ and for Thomson Reality in Atlantic City, NJ. Many would not know but Edward worked on many a job for a family that had little too no money and he would still take it because he could not bare the thought of someone not having water or proper heat. Edward retired from his business in 2015 to spend more time with his wife and family.

Edward was a past president of the Master Plumbers in 1989 and he enjoyed playing bingo at the Golden Nugget Casino. He also enjoyed collecting Victrola's, watching classic movies staring the Bowery Boys and Abbot and Costello, working on his 1964 mustang convertible and watching his favorite team the Philadelphia Phillys. Edward loved sweets but most of all adored his grandchildren, he was extremely family oriented and worked hard every day to give his family more than what he had growing up.

Edward will be missed and fondly remembered by his daughter; Debbie (Craig) Off, son; Edward Hahn, Jr, grandchildren; Craig and Bryce Off, brother; Ernest Hahn, Jr., aunt; Dot Reichelt, nieces; Robin Turner and Stardom Hollingshead cousin; Eddie Reichelt.
